# How to Choose Training Documents

> Tips for picking documents for training a style

Proper selection of documents for training a style is critical for getting good style results.

Key tips for selecting documents for training a style:

* Documents should be written by the *same author* to ensure a consistent writing style
* Documents should be of the same type, for example long-form articles versus emails
* Content should be entirely human written with no AI. Do not use AI articles that were edited to become human because even mixed AI-human articles will lead to a style that sounds like AI.
* The ideal amount of data to use for training is at least 100 paragraphs (2,500 - 10,000 words or more).

Important tips for using a style after it is created:

* Best results will be achieved when using the style to write articles in the same domain. For example, train on articles about travel and then style articles about travel. However, the style will work on other domains.
* Best results will be achieved when using the style on AI text created without a style prompt. In other words, neutral, generic AI text is styled the best. If AI text is created with a complex style prompt, then your style will work but be less effective on it.
